The PEO International Peace Scholarships are awarded to women who are citizens of countries outside the US or Canada. This scholarship is for women who choose to enroll in graduate study in an education offered at a school in the US and Canada.
The PEO International Peace Scholarship Fund was established in 1949 to help women based on demonstrated need.
The members of PEO International Peace Scholarships (IPS) believe that education is fundamental to maintaining world peace.
How? When qualified women who lack the financial means are given the privilege of higher education, when they become successful and earn a living from it, it directly helps the economy and the world at large.
It is imperative to note that the PEO International Peace Scholarships do not cover full academic or personal expenses. Instead, it is a gesture that motivates the applicant to keep her dream alive.
Therefore, an applicant is required to provide supporting documentation, proof of income or resources at the time of application that she can oversee the remaining costs to complete the program.
Some of these costs include work grants, personal and family funds, teaching assistantships, tuition waivers, college grants, etc.
Nevertheless, accredited universities and colleges in the US or Canada reimburse a maximum amount of $12,500 to successful applicants. However, depending on the package, this may be less. There is no specification on the number of grants.
