SCAD offers a scholarship opportunity to international students and also students of Savannah College of Art and Design who want to study but have no money for tuition can apply now, once your application process is completed and submitted it will be assessed and if you are eligible for federal or state funding any feedback you receive.

Frances Larkin McCommon Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for reimbursement,

  1. applicants must demonstrate superior artistic achievement.
  2. Applicants must be in the top 3% of the candidate pool.
  3. Must be incoming international freshmen
  4. Students must be on track to complete a minimum of 45 undergraduate hours or 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The off-campus programs can apply to receive travel grants.

Value of Frances Larkin McCommon Scholarship

The Scholarship will cover the cost of full tuition fees provided that a certain cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to maintain.

Frances Larkin McCommon Scholarship Winners

  • Brian Hortonson of Walter and Brenda Horton of Clearwater and a senior at Clearwater High School, has won a Frances Larkin McCommon scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. Horton won the $10,000 scholarship through the International Competition for Student Artists sponsored by the college.

More than 500 students from 47 states and 30 countries, including Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Lebanon, each submitted up to eight artworks to be judged by a panel of international artists who teach at the university.

  • Jeni Shepardsondaughter of LR and Loell R. Shepardson of Clearwater and a senior in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at St. Petersburg High School, has been named a semifinalist in the 1991 Presidential Scholars Program.

Semifinalists were selected from over 2.5 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in 1991. They were selected based on their performance on the College Board’s Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the American College Testing Program (ACT) and on their essays, self-assessments, description of activities, school recommendations, and school transcripts.

How do you get a Frances Larkin McCommon scholarship?

Note: 2022 Frances Larkin McCommon Scholarship is highly competitive and awarded to the earliest qualifications. The scholarship is based on merit, so eligible applicants are often asked to provide additional materials as part of their admission application. you must demonstrate superior artistic performance to be in the top 3% of the candidate pool.

Frances Larkin McCommon Scholarship SCAD for International Students

U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens can apply for federal aid through a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. To designate SCAD as your school on the FAFSA, use the SCAD Federal School Code: 015022. This code allows a school to calculate your eligibility for federal financial aid.

Students must first apply and be accepted at SCAD to receive assistance.

The May and Paul Poetter Full Tuition Scholarship is awarded annually to both international students, permanent residents of the US, and US Citizens by the Savannah College of Art and Design. As an incoming freshman, you are automatically qualified to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated very high leadership qualities, has volunteered, performed community service, or has demonstrated superior academic and/or co-curricular performance. Applicants must be in the top 5% of applicant shit

How do I get a scholarship for SCAD?

Scholarships may be available to currently enrolled SCAD students based on academic achievement, financial need, or a combination of both. To be eligible, students must be on track to complete a minimum of 45 undergraduate hours or 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The scholarship application for current students is only available online in April. Applicants are automatically considered for all applicable scholarships.

SCAD scholarship offers for undergraduate students vary depending on whether students live in SCAD housing. Current students accepted to study in an off-campus program can apply to receive travel grants. These scholarships are administered through the Office of Financial Aid. SCAD Endowed Scholarship for Black Students

Initially endowed by SCAD in June 2020, these scholarships are awarded annually to 12 undergraduate students (three incoming freshmen, three sophomores, three juniors, three seniors) and three graduate students who are African American. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (high school GPA of 3.0 for incoming freshmen) and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.
